Hmmm... first of all.. loads of thnks to MOE and the schools that 'sponsered' us to this trip.. ( you guys got to apply for next year's one la).. Thanks to the china and singapore moe officials that accompanied us to this trip and also to our singapore schools official esp rehju .. who was our 2nd mummy... ensuring we are safe ... and keepingour passports.... I really got to see china from my mini eyes... thanks for making our trip comfortable... and kept us well fed... every meal was like 10 course meal la...
Thanks to Joy my roomie... endured my nonsense .. she can shut off and filter wad she wans to hear... hee~ thnks for enduring my noise and my princess behavior... hehehe!
Thanks to the smu, ntu and nus people who made my trip a special one... thanks to the gers who shop till we drop... thnks to the gers who was my 'frens'.. thnks to the gers who made funny faces... thnks to the gers which the accent (yes, serena... you!) hehehe! thnks to gers who i had supper with... thnks to gers who entertained us with songs that reminded us as phanthom... thnks to the gers who play games and had a crazy time.. Many thnks to these babe !!
Thnks to the guys who help carry the bags of from the coach... thks to the guys who ensured our safety when we went out.. thks to the guys who sang songs to entertained us.. thks to the guys who has a funny way of laughin... thnks to the guys who gave up their seats to the gers... thks to the guys who help me take fotos and help my take my water bottle... thnks to the guys that make funny faces.. thnks to the guys that brought us for supper... thnks to the guys who play bridge, king's club and dai dee..
Many thnks to the students from the 4 different universities... yunnan, sunyatsang, xiamen and zhejiang university... we are really thnkful for the iternary you guys have planned.... i must say the students at xiamen are really really warm.. their school activities are the most well planned and the more interesting one... they are really nice, really helped to explained and introduced their school and xiamen to us... they were with us for the whole trip... the students at yunnan was also nice... they brought us to try alot of stuff... and also gave us flowers when we arrive... the students at sunyatsen was also very thoughtful.. they buffet of western food.. which we missed alot....
The universities in china are really huge... each of them have their own track and own pool.. and most of them have 2 campus... for us to walk from one building to another is hlaf an hour minimum... so most students have bicycle in china... zhejiang has the largest canteen in asia.. xiamen university has a draving range... yunnan has 4 tennis courts... 2 indoor,2 outdoor... sunyatsen has 2 libraries...
Our trip din start too well when nic and junjie got stuck in the airport when the flight(silkair mi916) was overbooked... the had to travel via shenzhen.. which would only arrive late at nite... apparently.. the flight at shenzhen was delayed.. the people at singapore counter din not book the connecting flight for nic and junjie from shenzhen to kuming ( which they say they will do everything for them) ... so when they where there they have to book the tickets themselves when they were at shenzhen... when they arrive at kunming .. finally... at midnight... the airport transfer was not here to fetch them... they had to take a cab themselves... apparently.. the airline did not do anything but only to book the tickets for the to shenzhen... they promised to get them to kunming and to the hotel.. which they did not do.. only gave the poor guys 200 bucks... This would not happend if we book our tickets in a group.. our ticket was book in pairs,, fives and single ticket.. mine is single lor... nic cannot fly without junjie... so nic got to wait for junjie who was an hour late...
Thats not all... a gers luaggage did not come with her to china.. it was left in singapore... this is funny.. cos i thought this would never happen in singapore... in the end they gave her 300yuan.. lol~ SGD60.. this amount to cover 2 days of no change of clothes and for her to call and contact the people and her cab fare to the airport to collect her bag.. this is cute la...

Oh yah.. don't change money at suntec money changer... joy changed yuan there... they gave ther 2 broken notes... in china... shops don't accept broken notes... you will have to go to the back to change a new note... the back will either change a new note for you or give you a discount..(instead of 100 they give you 80) and it's quite mafan for us to go find a back on the way...
China now has bad pollution and in some citiyies the people are rather pushy.. each city is unique and special in their own different ways.. it is rather interesting to see all these cities in one shot.. so to really see the difference.. communication is okay in some cities as some have their slang and dialect... (which make bargaining quite difficult, hee~)
best buy for the trip: umbrella

Apparently it's a part of yunnan.. it's a 'flower city' this place has alot of flowers around the city.. it's really pretty.. the weather is alot very nice as it's at the mountain top... or something like that la (*bimbo) too bad when we were there it rained rained and rained... kuming has 4 famous stuff.. mainly jade, tea, cigs and flowers... the kids her beg.. and they have the culture that people should give way to the cars.. their food is rather interesting.. it's not wad we usually eat every day.. it's quite salty and spicy one... the food mainly focused on rice... there's the ice porridge, rice shrimp. and dumpling with rice wine.... all made from rice.. it all just taste differnt from wat we usually have... they have something sweet served at the middle of the meal.. for instance.. banana cake would be served on the 7th dish.. lol~ and rice only served with the 5th dish is served.. sometimes theres 3 soup in a meal.. hee~ cute rite? their shopping okay only... walmart is like seng siong.. quite runned down... beer cost cheaper then water in china~ tried their 过桥米线.. nice... they use the laksa noodles and put into chicken soup.. it was nice... they like to add flowers petal in some of their food.. the mixian has ju hui one.. den got one dinner they serve fresh lilly buds.. i din noe that one can eat. taste like water chestnuts... and they have a bing(biscuit) which has rose filling.. taste like bundung... hee~

Then it was guangzhou...
I like guangzhou for their oh so nice food... and o so crazy shopping streets... we bascially went to pearl delta river and er sha island(where all the rich people live)... wad was bad was their services.. be it in mac or even in the hotel... kids were begging on the streets.. it was quite bad.. the kid just hug your leg and sit on it .. and you cannot more... went to ktv call ge ge.. it's like a club.. very noisy and dark... but it's cheap la... 金库 is better. huge! with all the wireless mic and the *shake shake stuff... motorcycles are banned in guangzhou due to thous peole that snatch bags with their motorcycle... massage in guangzhou is really cheap.. just 50 yuan (10SGD) for 1 hr of ful body massage... they mainly use canto to bargain and converse... i likve guangzhou the most.. might be visiting in july... wait for me alrite guangzhou...
Xiamen
XMU students have the most exciting and interesting school tour .. ( you have to pick your own balls at the driving range) it is relatively safe in xiamen and it's the closest to singapore.. the weather.. the shopping... apparently, xiamen island is only half of singapore but the whole xiamen is 3 times bigger... shopping is okay only... they speak hokkien.. even the vulgarities are the same as the one in spore.. heheeh... i think they are more famous for seafood and pig trottes.. which is serve at every meal... it has nice senery... beautiful island... mountain.. sea and sand.. makes picture prefect moments... no wonder it's ranked first for the most beautiful university...
Next stop: hangzhou
final destination for university visits... famous for their xi hu, long jing tea, slik and handicraft... shopping can try wu shan guang change where they sell cheap slik but quite touristy.. must BARGAIN! from 600 to 100 yuan.... ( tried and test) they have the culture to fight for cab.. no such thing as first come first serve k.. this city is rather historial and senic with qing history and the 西湖.. we visited the beer making factory and i realised our beer that we always drink is from recycled bottles...university has the largest canteen in asia and it's ranked #3 in china... some hangzhou food not to be missed.. dong po rou, jiao hua ji and mini lobster... and try their xiao long bao if possible... Rm2119
Final destination: shanghai
It's a place where the old meets the new.. the east meets the west... i was only there for 3 hours.. and was lucky enuff to try their 'famous' xiao long bao... i think it's not as fantastic as crystal jade.. people are pushy and the waitresses are not very nice to me... shanghai is very crowded and has very bad pollution... it's like new york... a jungle out there... but the buildings are less huge...
